Lars x Alisa: It suits this tribute to start off with one of the prominent Lars ships ever. I unloaded a whole mass of TL;DR over in the section for Alisa, so this part will be kept brief. Alisa was the one to be Lars' partner from start to finish. This of course included the obvious plot twist of her turning on him and him angsting over it on two separate occasions. Like I've said, I've liked Lars and Alisa as partners in battle and nothing more. Romantically, it's already been done (oh hey Chobits), and it's not my cup of tea. Alisa is adorable, yes. Naive? Hell yes. The premise of this pairing is that love is love but Tekken's never had a focal point on romance to begin with, and there are instances in fandom where they make it alternate universe so that Alisa is human and therefore is able to actually be with Lars, but in my opinion even that negates the basis of their relationship. Lars seemingly never made the difference between human and machine in terms of Alisa, he treated her as if she were real even if he did pay for it toward the ending stretch of the game.
Lars x Lili: My personal favorite ship involving Lars Tekken-wise. I could call it 'canon' if I wanted to, because they do interact with each other. Lili is responsible for Lars getting his main method of transportation throughout Scenario Campaign (Cutscene = 'An Extravagant Gift'). Their interaction in my opinion is adorable, and Lili seems to be lightly teasing Lars in spite of his situation and Lars easily plays along. Not to mention the eye contact Lili had been shooting him. That look implied 'ohoho, I do indeed like what I see!' and it made me squee. Lili, although arrogant and childish, has always struck me as the character to go for what she wants. In efforts to counter that, I totally think Lars would easily tell her no and knock her off her high horse. They make for good UST in my opinion, and I love it.
Lars x Tougou: C'monnnn, this is obvious. The Captain and his Wingman! There's no denying Lars and Tougou were close, not even Lars getting smacked with that round of amnesia could change that. If anybody knows Lars, it's Tougou. Tougou knows enough to respect Lars' wishes, and at the same time let Lars do what he wants. I was a little disappointed that Lars couldn't confide in Tougou about his relation to Heihachi; I think Tougou would have been understanding. They're bros, I don't see why he wouldn't. A personal favorite scene of mine is when they're going to take the boot-up key from the Zaibatsu in Operation Gemini (real name, see Alisa's Journal) and Tougou tells Lars that he'll take the lead, so Lars can "do a little damage" and Lars can only smirk and say that Tougou knows him well. And hi, that other scene? Yeah, Lars looked like he wanted to cry. It's okay Lars! Come be in denial with me when I believe that Tougou isn't dead!
Lars x Zafina: If you've been reading the Tekken Manga, specifically Chapter 7, then you've seen where this is coming from. In the manga, after Kazuya attacks Lars' squadron after they've successfully infiltrated G Corporation to steal something known as the Anti-D factor, Lars pretty much gets beaten up by Kazuya and is the only one to survive. Zafina is the one who finds him and nurses him back to health. One factor the manga kept from the game is that Lars still has amnesia, but it only takes a couple of pages for him to get his memory back. It takes Zafina being attacked by the Tekken Force soldiers for Lars to don his broken helmet and then proceed to destroy the soldiers. He cradles Zafina, asking if she's alright and she tells him not to worry. I love the fact that the manga highlighted a little more of Zafina's belief in Lars, and gave Zafina more prominence anyway. Plus the fact that he got Zafina to blush was adorkable. Manga!Lars is as adorkable as his game counterpart.
Lars x Jin: Oh, hello there incest. So by now we all know that Lars is Jin's Uncle, but hey, if people can ship Jin and Asuka together then these two aren't exempt. It's the perfect pairing to use when trolling through the massive amounts of 'OH MY GOD I HATE LARS BECAUSE I'M CLEARLY A JIN STAN' and 'OH MY GOD I HATE JIN BECAUSE I'M CLEARLY A LARS STAN' in fandom. I do have a soft spot for this pairing, I'll admit. I even wrote a piece on them because I for one took an interest into how Lars may have handled not just Jin, but Devil Jin. Before Lars rebelled, it's assumed that he was by Jin's side as his right hand man. I could also push it a little maybe think that Lars might have respected Jin before he went batshit evil and decided the best way to kill himself was the plunge the world into chaos so Azazel could awaken and they'd fight to the death. Personally, Jin could've done better and told Lars what the fuck was going on; Lars could only follow blindly for so long.
Lars x Leo: I don't know where the hell this came from, but I have noticed it in fandom. European pride, maybe? I haven't the slightest. Leo's androgynous nature probably wouldn't disturb Lars in the slightest. Leo would be Leo for Lars. They did meet in SC—Lars met all 38 charaters in Tekken; probably because they all needed to be in SC—so it's not completely not plausible.
Lars x Xiaoyu: I've seen it. Trust me. This is another prime example of an unconventional pairing. Not to mention it probably unnerves the really rabid Xiaoyin fans. I don't ship it, but I suspect that even Jin would have to go WTF at it. I think Xiaoyu is too hellbent on her 'daises and tulips' fantasies with Jin to even consider being with Lars or any other male for that matter. That's a damn shame.
