lars and his comrades
Although Lars commands an army of 30,000 men, it assumed that he is close with some of them, if not all of them. I'm sure that Lars is well aware that their lives are in his hands, and every single attack and strategy Lars might have planned—whether or not he was apart of Jin's regime—was done with careful precision. It could also explain why he chooses to lead these operations head on and isn't taking a back seat and commanding things from the back.
Lars himself has said that he feels at home when he's working with his allies, and that being there with them is home.
When the subject of a comrade dying comes up—it has in the beginning stages of Scenario Campaign—Lars is quick to offer his apologies.
Lars is more than willing to put himself in harm's way for his allies as well. When the Jack Robot is getting ready to detonate in the lab, he's quick to push his teammates down and try to shield them from the attack. The explosion costs Lars his memory, and he was the only one left after the explosion ended. When Tougou tells him about the explosion and how he thought Lars was dead, Lars comes to the conclusion that he was the only one left, and the look on his face implied some sort of sadness.
