domain information

AITHERION.ORG was purchased/registered over at DreamHost on June 18th, 2009. I've heard so many wonderful things about DreamHost. However the thing that appealed to me most was unlimited space and bandwidth. I loved the idea of being able to put up tons and tons of web projects and go all out with them, and possibly be able to actually host people in the future~ You know, once I master this.

It's said that webdesign is indeed supposed to be fun and never a chore. and if you couple that with my procrastinating well...you get torn-sky.net sitting there idle. I've always wanted a second domain actually; it was just a matter of getting the funds for it and I finally got them wheee. Torn Sky is always going to be precious to me, my baby's four years old! However when life outside of webdesign takes over you get drained. Bah, enough about that, continuing on! With Aitherion, I hopefully will try to put up semi original things, more importantly an archive of my ramblings and writings. There's so much I wanna do but of course I gotta sit down and take the time to write and flesh it out. I have plans for my darling Aitherion.ORG!

As for the name, I have an affinity for most things Greek or Roman related (especially Mythology/Names). My intention was to actually have Aitheria.ORG but apparently that was taken. Aitheria in Greek means 'Air'. Air happens to be my element so it suited perfectly. I was a little down at seeing aitheria taken, so I just decided to make it 'Aitherion'. Sounds a little cooler and still gives a nod to the greek word 'Aitheria'.

torn sky organization: with homage to my last domain torn-sky.net, I changed it from trip machine (one of the songs from Dance Dance Revolution) to this. Like I've mentioned before I loved t-s.net to pieces and I've never forgotten about my old domain. So I carried it on over here~

the layout
This layout features fabulous art by Weng Zi Yang from his art collection. I thought the detailing was lovely and told a story. Going into further tl;dr territory I thought two of the images together told the story of two my original characters who have a bond that does not break at all. One is well reserved and the other is out there and an optimist. They take and borrow from one another and they learn together. I kept the fonts simple while the layout well...all over the place sort of? There were like four-five pieces before this, and I settled on this one~

Tools of the Trade: Adobe Photoshop CS3 for layout, Notepad for content
